June escapade — Part 1:Beatiful Bali

After three airports, two countries, lots of photos and a sunburn, I am now back from our family trip! It was an awesome time, getting to see the sunrise on a plane, and marvel at the sunset in different places.

Sunrise from the plane to Bali! 🙂

We spent the first three days in Bali, trying not to get confused with the millions of rupiahs we had (the zeroes sort of make you feel richer, haha), and figuring out the best way to get to the beach.

Zeroes are goooood! 😀

We also had a blast picking oranges after lunch and chasing monkeys in Ubud to get good close-up shots. I also got to sit with to a monkey trying to chew my skirt and even attempting to peek under (haha!).

Monkey see, monkey do! hihi 🙂

We ended our tour day with the sunset in Uluwatu temple, taking photos of the tiered temple roofs set on a very high cliff against a backdrop of sky and sea.

After going around Bali on the second day, we just decided to wander around Kuta Beach and enjoy the sun and sand.

Kuta is one of the most laid back places I’ve been to, where tourists are a common sight and walking around in a bikini is normal. We managed to survive the copious amounts of red chili in our food, but when we had enough, we headed for the nearest McDonald’s for our fast food cravings. Even my mom, who was vegetarian, gobbled up the chicken sandwich we bought for her. It was the next best thing to veggies — it had lettuce bits in it. 😀

We spent our last day lounging around the beach, jumping some waves, having Bintangs and waiting for the sunset, which was glorious and sad at the same time because we were leaving the next day.

Loving the colors!
Loving the colors!

Bali was a mix of colors and flavors, embraced with sunny skies and the hospitality of its people. Though it wasn’t my first time here, it will always be a sort of paradise for us.

We headed for the airport at 4 am the next day, sleepily wandering around the airport before catching our flight to Kuala Lumpur. And, another adventure awaited us. 🙂
